The sixth annual Greater Middlesex Conference Baseball Coaches Association Charity Golf Outing was a resounding success.
The event, conducted June 27 at Cranbury Golf Club in West Windsor, once again benefited The Marisa Tufaro Foundation, which assists pediatric patients and children in need throughout the greater Middlesex County area.
Through its charity golf outings, the coaches association has now fundraised a total of $20,000 for the foundation.

Since its inception in July 2017, The Marisa Tufaro Foundation has donated nearly $450,000 to fulfill its mission.
The nonprofit has also donated thousands of toys, nonperishable food items, winter jackets, baby supplies, children’s books, school supplies and other items upon which it has placed no monetary value.
In addition, the foundation has awarded $42,500 in academic scholarships to 58 inspirational high school seniors and sent 37 elementary and middle school students to a weeklong summer art camp at Rutgers University’s Zimmerli Art Museum.
Born with a complex cardiac defect, Marisa Tufaro survived six open-heart surgeries and a heart transplant before succumbing to a rare form of cancer in 2017 following a valiant battle. She was just 13 years old.
Despite being hospitalized for more than two years and maintaining hundreds of doctors’ appointments, Marisa was an Edison Township Public Schools honor roll student involved in myriad extracurricular activities who lived a vibrant life that inspired.
The foundation is a fitting way to keep alive Marisa’s indomitable spirit and allow her legacy to be one of helping others.
